The reason the story got started is that the top of the car was sheared off, and she did suffer trauma to the skull, but it definitely remained atop her beautiful frame.
Then the car became like a convertible, i.e. a topless model. Also, the skull trauma must have involved the loss of some skin/muscle (at least) from the top of her head - the review doesn't say headless.
A blonde wig was found at the scene, further leading to uninformed speculation that her head had been sliced. Nope, it was just a wig. The skull damage was caused by her head striking the dashboard. And though you parse the review finely, I stand by my statement that the votes come from people who wrongly "remember" that she was decapitated [including the reviewer himself, as it happens; that was clearly why Whippy chose the word "topless," for its assumed "double meaning"], not that the car became a convertible.
I note again that I haven't suggested that Whippy delete the review, only that his original intention was inaccurate. Like him when he conceived it, most people think it's a [very clever] jest on something that actually happened. |

Five sixes are thirty. But that's beside the point. Here are some reviews, old and newer that I hope could do better. |

I'm gonna argue that the irony of the review, given the urban legend, is enough to rescue it from being generic, although I acknowledge I'm fighting an unexpected rearguard action, as no doubt Jayne herself had to do on many occasions.
I don't think the review has a problem, whether it sprang from misinformation about her death or a very clever double meaning. I found a copy of her death certificate on findadeath.com which cites the COD to be "a crushed skull with avulsion of cranium and brain." An avulsion is a tearing away, so in effect, the top of her head was torn or ripped off, kind of an ultra scalping, so anything stating she's topless should pass muster, imo, anyway!!!

Two newbies (thanks to MERPs), three oldbies
Note: In Disney's 1940 "Fantasia," during the scene with the cherubs and centaurs, there was originally a black cherub seen in the corner of one shot, buffing the hoof of a female centaur. Years later, before the video release, this shot was cut just before the cherub was seen, due to modern intelligence and sensitivities. |

I don't think the review has a problem either, as I've already stated at length, but the listed COD does not specify that the avulsion occurred on the top of her head. People didn't wear seat belts in those days, and the poor thing smashed into the dash. One gruesome and also false story was that there was a slice of her scalp attached to the blonde wig found at the scene.
But regardless of whether or not she was avulsed from the top, it remains that many of not most people encountering Whippy's review will "remember" that she was decapitated -- it's the myth that won't go away -- and all I was doing was my duty in the service of veracity. |

Pfeiffer sings a song in a striking red dress and at some stage (maybe the beginning of the song) she is lying horizontally on a grand piano. It was one of the choice scenes used in it's advertising.
Guilty admission: I never saw it. |
