Usually a film franchise keeps all of its sequels (or prequels) on the big screen.
Star Wars Die Hard Terminator etc.
And sometimes film sequels go right to Dvd due to less popularity or new cast.
Bring it On...Again Inspector Gadget 2 etc.
ANd less often times the films sequel goes right to video game. You have to play the game to watch the whole movie.
I cant think of any right now.
Other times the film isnt even that popular or they just want to revive the film popularity on televison.
I can't think of any right now.
But now comes something new. SInce the popularity of High School Musical and HSM2 on the Disney Channel it has been announced that the third movie will become a feature Length film on the big screens. High School Musical 3: Haunted High School Musical
Has anything like this ever happened before? Can they actually call it High School Musical 3? (Maybe thats why its named Haunted High School Musical). So now a Fanchise can go from Television to the Big Screen. This Franchise is getting a big ego trip. Do they think they can make money on it after a less than remarkable sequel?
