Gang:
According to my stats, I had 1,446 reviews approved in 2006 . . . and I only started in the site last May! . . . but for all of 2007, I'm only on 225. Has everyone seen this kinda slowdown, or does it vary?

Thanks.

Nah, it's always like this when Benj goes on one of his honeymoons.

However, expect a big improvement once he has Lisa trained up to do all the MERPing.

[My stats are 925 this year so far, 2224 in 2006]

last year you were probably writing 100 reviews a week, now thankfully we are all capped at 20, long live the cap!

1714 in 2006 without the cap. 602 in 2007 with the cap. I'm not complaining since we still have half of September, and all of October, November and December still to go. Sure, I won't hit 1700 this year, but I figure I'm doing pretty good.

(Less reviews submitted, but also less rejected.)

The cap certainly makes a difference to the number of acceptances. RedCap had about 28 per week accepted last year.

If his acceptance rate is, say 2/3, that would mean he was writing 42, so let's say if he is writing the full 20 per week quota now he is writing about half the reviews than he was then.

Taking into account we have only finished 71% of 2007, this would mean he should have had about 500 acceptances.

Of course this assumes the cap came into place on 01JAN07 which it didn't, so its all rubbish really. However, RedPen is clearly well down on expectancies, even if they are actually 283 and not the 225 he thinks .

Averages for lemmy:

2003
451 reviews in 87 days--avg. of 36/week

2004
1807 reviews--avg. of 35/week

2005
1664 reviews--avg. of 32/week

2006
1077 reviews--avg. of 21/week

2007
349 reviews in 257 days--avg. of 9.5/week.

With the exception of my first year,2003 (when I was on steroids), my votes per review stat for 2007 is my highest which suggests that fewer reviews means better reviews.

I had 2071 approvals last year and this year I'm on pace for about 800 to 900. The 20-per week really limits my production but I'm not complaining too much.

I've found that my average votes per review has been steadily climbing because I haven't been cranking them out so much.

Forget about training Lisa - here's hoping that they get a family started soon and those little fingers can click the approve button at lightning speed.

2003 Reviews: 7
2004 Reviews: 358
2006 Reviews: 216
2005 Reviews: 219
2007 Reviews: 231

So I don't think approvals have gone down for any reason other than the cap, which doesn't affect me directly.

Titanpa's Stats and his excuses

2004 Reviews 713 - 1st year, Wife was pregnant
2005 Reviews 425 - 2nd year, Baby here Late nights
2006 Reviews 529 - Moved into a new house. Computer packed away
2007 Reviews 228 - cap limit, Netflix member, 3+ months left

I dont know about you but it seems even numbered years have more reviews for me. Very weird...I didnt have my cumputer running for a few months in 2006..but I have more reviews than 2005. Well....guess I can blame that on my daughter..hehe.

I sure hope the last 3 months contain the same approval process that these past 2 weeks have had.

P.S. Im embarrassed...Some of you have had reviews in the 1000's some years. I guess I havent kept pace.

As a newbie, I've been very lucky this year.... with nothing to compare it to for the previous years.(Hmmm, wish I'd discovered the site years ago)

I got in a month or so before the Cap, but LOVE the cap. The 'cap' keeps hyper-submission freaks like myself in check, allowing all reviewers the chance to have their 'voices' heard.

I guess I average about 15-23 acceptances/week... haven't taken the time to mean it out. Hell, some weeks, I'm lucky to have 10 reviews cycle thru the meat grinder.

But, have I said... I LOVE THE CAP!
