This happened to me at 08:28 this morning, I closed the browser window and started again and got stright in. I thought nothing of it until I saw Foxy's post.
I'm on ie7 XP-Pro
Cheers

Hmm... not sure this is the same thing- the 4am problem tends to last from 30mins to an hour and wouldn't right itself by closing the browser (not any time I tried it anyway). Which page were you trying to access when you got this? |

This is really starting to irritate me. Not only does the server show no signs of why this happening (or even evidence of it happening, even though I know it does), it doesn't even have the decency to happen at anything approaching a reasonable hour
I'm all out of options right now. I think I'll have to seek some expert help to try and sort this one out. Either that or move the site elsewhere |

www.fwfr.com - the homepage, it happened a few times yesterday during the day
Benj, maybe this error could be my school'sconnection being slow possibly or the school's server messing about I will ask the techies if there has been an issue but it has only happened at fwfr for me and no other sites

I just now lost the site a couple of times, i.e. the connection failed, I guess it said. I'm in an Internet cafe where no other site seems to be a problem. Thinking about it, this does happen fairly often. |

I notice that nothing's been said about this recently, so I thought I'd add my note that it is still happening, or at least it was last night and the last few nights, usually around 11 pm - midnight EDT. I think this is what? 4 am to 5 am UK? |

I have the exact same problem. After 11 p.m., I can't get on anymore. |

I have also noticed the site being impossible to load at that time. |

I'm sure this is no surprise, but I just thought I should note that the crash happened again (from around 4:00) and has done so each time I have been up at this time lately. |

I'm still trying to fathom this out. Problem is, it's some kind of server configuration thing (not exactly my specialty) rather than a bug in the code, hence my complete inability to resolve this in a timely manner. Once I think I've done anything that may fix it, I'll post here so you folks can tell me if it's still happening or not. |

Re this connectivity problem at 4am, does your server do something like scandisk or an anti-virus scan at that time?

Not that I'm aware of. I've checked for any and all automated tasks and there's nothing. Also, I've actually been working on the server at that time and it's performance doesn't change at all- it's just it suddenly becomes inaccessible to the outside world via a web browser |
