Uhm -- far be it from me to stop you getting your stuff approved, but I thought this thread was for stuff which has been languishing in our pending piles for many months.
This is from MguyX's original post: quote: Dear MERPs, please help us poor buggers supplicants spruce up our pending piles by letting us get rid of ONE pending review that's starting to mold, and thereby is stinking up the joint.
Supplicants: pick your OLDEST review from the pending pile (or just ONE that you want to move along its way), report the review and the film here in this thread.
Otherwise I can't see the point of the thread and it would just be a free-for-all begging for approvals of all and sundry. I didn't dare suggest my own stuff until it had been around for about 6 months.
Unless I've got the wrong end of the stick. So how long has your Panda review been waiting?

Good point, B.B. I had forgotten all about that, even by the time of my previous request.
However, I think it ought to be any reviews that one particularly would like processing sooner rather than later. I've had particular reasons in both cases.
MguyX, please let me know -- I'll delete my post if you would like to keep this thread within your original parameters. MERPs, please ignore my request if you see fit. |

Thanks MERP -- sorry if I was wrong in this request. Only U.K. residents who are not very highbrow will get this review, so probably no one here. |

I had submitted a second, but as I said that was from -2004-. I have no more that could be so justified for a follow up, but I would like to see other users who haven't chimed in yet.

Well, since Baftababe was able to get the MERPs to consider a second review (go, girl!) and since I'm feeling rather cheeky myself, I have just one more long-languishing review to bring forth then I'll behave and be a good FWFR'er.
I had a 14 month-old review for Life Or Something Like It that was short, simple and, I thought, kinda clever:
Jolie: blonde.
See; not only did it explain Jolie's hair in the movie (like most other reviews of this film did, I noticed after the fact) but it also references an old Cajun country song: "Jole Blon"
Here's the song, lest you think I lie.
Okay, there you go. Give in to my demands and I won't let my stolen nuclear warheads send the whole West Coast into the ocean.
(drums fingers hazardously close to the detonation button...)
EDIT - Hey! Added already! Thank you much and I'll be good now. |

Is this opening the door for seconds? Like Sludge, I'd like other fwiffers who haven't reaped any rewards yet to get some good Merp loving first, but it is sorely tempting to pick off my other oldest pending review. C'mon Whipper - you said you had some reviews gathering dust... |

Don't ask me: ask the MOIPS. My guess is they will either grant your request or decline them. As for me, my oldest is only a few months old now, so I'm content to wait for the time being.
Not saying I won't come back with cap in hand though . . . . |

I now have 8 second-pass reviews which are more than a year old.
This number would be considerably greater had I not deleted several reviews, in some cases just giving up on them and on other occasions re-submitting as new, some of which were then accepted in a matter of a few minutes.
Benj, why is this?

I'm not benj (but I play one on T.V.). I think the reason is kind of random. Benj once explained the rotation of reviews through the approval cycle, and I don't remember the methodology, but I do recall that there was some logical explanation.
THere: how's that for information! |

It's clear that first-pass reviews are presented in some obvious/immediate way to MERPs. Like napper says, they are frequently approved within minutes. If one isn't processed rapidly, it seems to become less likely to be processed than any newer submission. |

OK, let's put it another way: why don't we do something about this problem?

Personally, if I see I'm not getting up to my 20 reviews, I take an old pending one, delete it and submit it with (hopefully) a better explination. I figure some of the older first pass ones have gotten lost in the shuffle and better to just start all over with them. |

I think thats very practical, but some of us nearly always reach our 20 reviews a week, so it doesnt help us that much.
Anyway, why should that be necessary? What exactly is this "shuffle" they get lost in? This is a computerized database, right, not a big sack with some holes in it?
Is it really unreasonable to ask for this situation to be addressed so its a little more equitable? Can it really be so hard to do?
