I believe it's been moved back to 5 am GMT tomorrow, or midnight EST, in line with the American opening tonight of The Dark Knight. Two reasons to live.

That sucks... it was there, I swear
Doc Manhattan looks amazing and the whole thing looks absolutely epic- it's definitely worth the wait. You'll also see a small close-up snippet of Rorschach's mask effect- looks as though it's cotton-like and the black pattern kind of spreads like liquid seeping into it. Seriously cool! |

I believe you. Many at aintitcool.com have reviewed the trailer and gave it a huge thumbs up. Best comment I read: "I think I peed my pants a little."
Will try again at home. Off to see George Michael tonight! |

Trailer definitely exciting!
Then, I put into the mix: Gilliam and Aronofsky once attached to direct. Ends up with Snyder -- the - and I quote - "visionary" director of 300. Oy!
Trailer makes it look like a semi-retro cross between Blade Runner and Clockwork Orange. Well, a bit. It's prob'ly a boy thing
At least it evokes great comic-book art without that tortuous inyerface Dick Tracy thang
Bring it on, baby!

Well, if you're after 2 hours of women talking about how stupid men are and shopping then probably not There's some pretty strong female characters in it however- it's not your typical "Kerpowee" comic book that usually gets this kind of budget. |

Loved it. Hope the movie holds up. Snyder is absolutely right for the project, which is probably 75% greenscreen. |

Well, I opted out of seeing SatC and had great fun watching Iron Man, but I'm not really much into the comic book films. Sure, Superman and Batman are fun, but I like those because they have enough tongue in cheek to keep me from feeling slapped in the face with it all. I did notice that woman in the trailer, but damn if they didn't make her look like she was some S&M queen, and frankly it was distasteful to look at and made me uncomfortable (as in, "ouch, that must be painful to wear!"). Don't get me wrong, I like good strong females in action movies, but there's a fine line between strong and raunchy, and that trailer made me feel they crossed it.
(She will, however, pull in all the pimply faced nurds and geeks, I'm sure.)

I'm not that impressed. I wouldn't have minded a bit more dialogue and *cough* acting in the trailer rather than epic greenscreen images and a dozen slow motion explosions and action sequences. Makes it look like a retro Matrix movie. Ok, Dr Manhattan looks absolutely perfect, as does Rorschach, but I hated 300, I really did, and I have fears of similar infantile cheese stinking out this most serious and sublime of graphic novels. It's a great story - not Baywatch - so excessive slow mo is not required. Hopefully it's just a trailer thing. |

I think they went the right way with just showing a teaser, and having absolutely no allusions whatsoever to the overall plot. I doubt many people would make the connection between Jon Osterman's disintegration and Captain Manhattan.
I, too, disliked 300 instensely, but I know people who are working on this thing (and they vouch for Snyder's vision), I have read the shooting draft, and I have now seen the trailer. It looks prettay, prettay, prettay good.
Having said that, you might be disappointed if you don't like Snyder's signature slow-motion-till-point-of-impact-and-BAM style, which he will be using (though not as much as he did in 300).

I feel horrible, I have never heard of this project (or subject) before.
I'll check out the "awesome" trailer soon. |

ok, i didn't piss myself, but i did feel tingly. it looks faithful to the comic, but i have my doubts. the original was a 12-issue series. no way they're getting all that in 2.5 hours, generally my threshold for "is-this-wrapping-up-soon?". i think it would have worked much better as a cable miniseries. but the trailer does look gorgeous. |
