So, I try not to question benj and the MERPs on the fourum, but I have a general question about a review I had for Cloverfield.
The review was "Street name protects secrecy." The movie was named Cloverfield because that is the street in L.A. where the production company was and the director or writer didn't want people to know what the movie was about or what kind of monster it was, so they named it this weird street name to keep people guessing.
My question is this. It was rejected for the reason of that the street name doesn't protect the secrecy in the movie.
But, does that matter? It's a fwfr about the movie. Does it have to be about the exact plot of the movie? It seems like there are a lot of reviews that talk about the movie, without it being a plot only thought.
Yeah, I'd allow it but I can see how it could be declined. At first glance it looks bad because it could be misinterpreted as talking about the secrecy of the production of the film. This is bad because it makes the review outside the scope of the reality of the film. However, 'Cloverfield' does indeed protect the secrecy of the government operation- it's a bit of a geeky factoid of a review but it is valid.
