A few days ago I hit 200 reviews! (A measly achievement in most of your terms, but I've only been here a few months remember )
To celebrate, I've decided what I'd actually like to do is go through all my reviews and delete any I don't feel are good enough. We all take a little while to properly get into fwiffering and figure out what makes a good review, what we like etc., so I have some (from my early days especially) which I wouldn't submit now. There are also those that I liked at the time I submitted them, but not anymore. Basically, I want to make the average standard of my reviews higher.
I already deleted a couple, but then thought, in order to help me decide what should stay and what should go, I'd ask you guys to take a couple of minutes (there are only just over two pages after all! ) to look through them and vote for any you like. Then I'll see which ones we agree aren't good enough!
So, here are my reviews in chronological order.
Thanks!
p.s. feel free to suggest ways some of the less-good ones could be improved

And I would rather have no children deletion on my conscience. ... ... ... ... But you could insert the reviews you hate the most, so we could discuss. |

Every milestone is important -- and fun to reach.
I wouldn't presume to tell you how to improve your reviews. But I approached it from the opposite side and Hammered a few of yours I hadn't yet noticed. Congrats on 200! |

The way I look at it if a review is out there, has been seen in FYC and still hasn't picked up a vote or two I consider it worth a re-think. I often go back through my reviews and push underperformers if I like them, or think of something better. |

Well done Matt, 200 claps on the back for you.
I tried to cull my bad reviews but they are like farts you can just about stand your own!!
I will some day go about the cull but as and from the introduction of the submission cap I have reverted to one review/one movie with a few exceptions. |

Haha yeah I know what you mean, but I'm not talking about a mass culling here; I was only thinking along the lines of a couple of dozen at most, and it would only be reviews I just don't think are that good, and don't feel any real paternal attachment to! My unloved children that I want to disown, if you will.

That's what I figured; if I'm not particularly fond of them myself and nobody else is either, they might as well go.
Thanks to the couple of people who have taken the time to do this so far, it's much appreciated!

Let's think of it as washing one's children's faces and trimming their nails.
You could tie the first one together more as "Kurt's car hurts her" or "Kurt's car hurts hearts" or something. Neither of those is as straightforward a description as the original, but they're close enough that on balance I prefer them. I've still voted for it your way though. |

I don't delete reviews. I think I may have done so once, but I tend to keep what I sow. I had a look at your reviews, and I think there are some undervoted gems there. Do what you think is best, I wouldn't tell you to delete anything. I suppose that makes me an inclusionist. |

Thanks Those are both ok, although I think there's a better review to be made of it somehow... I'll have to think about it.
I was wondering: if you edit an approved, voted-for review in any way other than changing the case of letters, does it keep its votes?

Oh thanks Maybe I should go a bit easier on them then!

Reviews keep their votes, even if changed totally. It's a bit of an issue, actually, although I've never seen it raised.
How about "Kurt's Hertz hurt skirts"? That's quite good, in fact. I kinda want it...
Who thinks it's similar enough to [matt]'s that he should have it (if he wants it) and who thinks it's different enough that I should? |

Well now we're talking specifics... (spoilers)
Because he does more than hurt them I'd be tempted to go for some c&k action, something like "Kurt's car kills" and then something for the final "c". Seeing I couldn't stand the girls and was relieved they were finally shut up (as I'm sure Tarantino was given the lavish slow-mo repeat he fetishically indulged in) I might go for c*nts, but that's a matter of taste of course.
As for editing, no, you get to keep your current votes, although the way I see it if it's miles off your original review it's a bit of a cheat having picked up votes for it. If you end up straying into a new pun or idea I tend submit a new review entirely and then delete the old one if it goes down better than the original. |

Don't delete them. Give them a new life with Alan Smithee by disowning them. |
