Ill need to gloss my review of City of Ember for everyone except Beanmimo, I think. The young female lead in the movie, searching for a way to escape the underground city, is Saoirse Ronan. Saoirse is pronounced seercha, more or less, & is Irish for freedom.
That's a very good one, much better than my efforts for the film.
Is he a king in this? (I must have trusted so at some point, as I've voted for it.) |

Thank you. Actually I can remember voting for your concise pun 'Preserved in Ember.' No, 'king' is used loosely there. Howerd is in fact as far from being royal in that movie as he can be; he does plenty of leering but hes a slave. Sid James plays Henry VIII in the Carry On movie.

Yep, it definitely seems to fit that film much better.
Sid James died on the day that I was born! |

Oh, O.K. I didn't pay that much attention to those sort of details. It's not really the crux of the film but I'll give it a vote anyway.

No, they would reject it with 'Title play only'. Then you would resubmit it with "No, it actually features in the film." Then they would come back with 'Too generic'. Then you would say "How many other films could this apply to please?" Then they would just say "Bad." Then you would say "What is bad about this review please?" Then they would decline it blankly.
Or does that only happen to me? |

It may not mean to be but that's very funny Sal, it reminds me of chinese torture the way you seem to drip feed the MERPS info.
Do you actually just say to them
"No, it actually features in the film."????

No, it was meant to be.

Just giving them a taste of their own medicine.

Does it not seem a reasonable thing to say to them? I diluted it with regard to your review, which the film isn't really 'about'. What I normally say is "NOT title play ONLY. The film is actually about this!" (The caps aren't shouting -- I just don't want to waste characters by using asterisks for emphasis, when there might be another explanatory comment already using up some of the space. On the other hand, I do say "please" when I make a request and there is room.) For example, my Love Affair with Opera review this round was originally rejected as 'Title play only'. That was simply stupid, and there is no point pretending otherwise. |

Ah, I see, well I presume that they know I'm disagreeing with them by virtue of my reply in the first place and just launch straight into a description of why i'm disagreeing with them. |

Well, saying that something is in the film is an explanation of why I'm disagreeing with 'Title play only'. There is nothing else that can be said. |
