Just select all of them and copy and paste in the normal fashion; however, paste into a plain-text programme first to get rid of all the graphics; then do various globals in Excel to tidy it up and get rid of unwanted information. |

Bloody hell, what an effort. I'm glad FWFR is just a hobby for me. Besides, should everything go down and all the reviews be lost, to just have mine available on an otherwise empty site would look a bit strange I think. |

Effort?! It takes about one minute.
I'm not sure why, but you seem to be implying that I would want my reviews back on the site if all others were lost. Of course I wouldn't! I don't want a copy of something I've written only on the basis that it's published somewhere -- I simply want a copy of it to keep because I took the trouble to write it in the first place. |

How dare you Sir! I wasn't implying that at all, merely that reviews outside the construct of this site lose their relevancy.
So tell me, do you keep a copy of everything you write? What about fourum entries? Birthday cards? Toilet graffiti? |

I didn't know how else to interpret "Besides, should everything go down and all the reviews be lost, to just have mine available on an otherwise empty site would look a bit strange I think."
I agree that reviews are better in the context of other reviews, but I'd rather have them at all than not.

Of course not, but of course I keep a copy of anything creative. |

I see. And you consider all your reviews to be creative do you? |

What do you consider the benefit of asking that question to be? |

To understand where your definition of creativity starts and ends. I don't think of all my reviews as being creative, in the sense that I had to tap into my subconscious and coax an idea to come forth. Others could argue that the very act of writing anything requires you to be creative, because to create anything, you must use creativity.
Not that I'll particularly benefit from knowing your answer, but maybe you should ask yourself why you're reluctant to respond - it could be indicative of an issue you're unwilling to confront. |

Benj, with all due respect, the khaki green is a little... well... dull, in my opinion. The site is lively, we need a colour that reflects that.
I remember when I came here telling Benj that this was the best beige thing I'd ever seen. (
To my eyes, the color appears in the gold range. Gold is very hard to do with RGB. No wonder. |

I was intrigued by that question. Is this how you do it, Salopian:
go to the address bar and tinker with this querystring: Rows=1000&Start=1 increasing the rows number to be greater than the number of reviews in the account.
benj -- how about a feature for logged in users whereby we can export our reviews to a CSV file?
As to the creativity question, etc.
Why does a grizzly leave scratches on a tree as high as he can reach? Why does a dog mark everything in sight? Why do we write reviews, if not to say, "I am, therefore I must create. I create, therefore I am." Indeed, ask not "why," but "why not?" ::::mumbling to self about philistines:::: |

What is this obsession all of a sudden with folks wanting to transfer their reviews away from the site? Does rottentomatoes or IMDB offer this feature? No. So why is it required here? The site's the securest it's ever been and I backup the database daily. Other than indicating a lack of confidence in me, how am I supposed to read this? |

I love the green but would not mourn it if it was gone, most good websites change their colours and styles from time to time and as we know it's the content that's really important here.
In saying that I do like the silhouette effect that appears on some pages of the book. I'd like to see some of that on fwfr movie pages if it wasn't too distracting.

OK, I'll scratch the work on my FWFR data mining script, if you're going to be so thin-skinned about it! ;) (Never mind that bothersome little copyright thingie. Nothing to see here. Move along.)
And just because one trait I share with Salopian is a pita tendency to question everything to the point of ridiculousness, I will point out that every time a site is loaded in a browser, the content is transferred away. If that is a problem then what to do about offline browsing utilities?
"Does rottentomatoes or IMDB offer this feature?" Apparently, we are not as passionate about those amateurish bits of fluffery as we are about your magnificent creation.
And nope, I've never saved my reviews or anyone else's. But there is lots of other stuff from around the web that I have saved. For example, as an equine pedigree collector (insert eye roll here) I have saved hundreds of pedigrees.

I don't really have any issue with you copying your reviews off the site if you really feel the need to, I just don't understand why it's something I should feel inclined to make a simpler process. It also doesn't help that I've yet to hear any kind of a justifiable need for this feature.
And to provide an answer at the point of ridiculousness... this is like asking YouTube to provide a direct download link. Sure, you can argue that the content is transferred away to the client machine with each page request but it's not all at once and it's not for the intention of permanent storage (hence why you'll find the html to pages you visit held for a time in your Windows Temporary Files folder). |
