And a total brain-twister, since all the film has in common with the TV version is the score and the title:
The Pink Panther
Also, "The Brady Bunch" TV series was pretty much a direct lift of the film Yours, Mine and Ours (1968) with Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda, but 12 of the film's 18 kids didn't fit into to television's aspect ratio.
With Gunsmoke, I don't see any similar characters to tie any TV series with the movie, so that's a no.
Paper Chase - yes Operation Petticoat - yes
Pink Panther - no. Just a name won't do it, and anyway, I'm not adding movies that were turned into animated TV series.
As for Yours, Mine & Ours - I'm afraid the Beardsley family simply are not the Brady family, despite the similar first initial, so that's another no.

Thanks but I'm not doing movies turned into animated TV series.
(This is now an accolade with 45 movies to it, and I have to draw the line somewhere.)

It's a great accolade ChocolateLady I cannot wait to sink my keyboard into it. I cannot believe that i have missed reviewing so many obviously high profile movies. |

Have you considered Raiders of the Lost Ark - which spawned TV's Young Indiana Jones Chronicles? |

That is an idea... however, I'm not sure about this one since the TV series ends up being a "prequil" to the movie, chronologically. But... wasn't the TV series based more on the real "Indiana Jones" biography more than the movie?
I'll have to think about this one. |

Yes, I'll add 39 Steps to my accolade but not Dirty Dozen - since I'm talking about full-fledged TV series - meaning something they made and hoped would air for at least a whole TV season. A mini-series doesn't count, since it was made as one full body of work before being aired on TV.

Battlestar Galactica.
Um... no, I don't think so. I'm not taking TV movies made into TV series - just movie theatre released movies that were made into TV series. I don't see where this was first a regular theater movie first.
Well that's bizarre. I saw that at the cinema, and definitely never on TV. Same with the sequel "Mission Galactica".
Now I've got a big question mark over IMDb. I.e., precisely what the (TV) means. Perhaps it just relates to the USA. In NZ both "Battlestar Galactica" and it's sequel premiered at the cinema.
Edit: If you check under Runtime, you'll see that the theatrical cut is 125 minutes.
Hm... let me think about that one, but I'm leaning towards no since there isn't anything clear cut one way or another.
Fair point. I'm guessing it was made as a TV movie and initially aired on TV in the US. And probably did well enough in the immediate post-Star Wars days that they made a feature-length cut for global cinema distribution.
It depends on what you want the accolade to be. The easy solution is to do what benj does, and just stick to the IMDb classification, so in this case it began it's life as a TV movie so it's a no-go.
I saw this in the cinema too - never occured to me until now that it might not be a bona fide made-for-theatre movie despite its evident made-for-80s-tv feel |

All but Teen Wolf since that was made into an animated TV series.
