V&V.
I think Sally's idea of starting one round midweek at 6 pm FWFR time is eminently fair. I mean, I've never had a problem with NOT being able to start a FYCTH round, but those of us in eastern North America are pretty much shut out if we ever DID want to. Therefore, I vote with Sally's plan. Alternate from AM to PM; he's got it figured out.
Adding another themed FYCTH? Sure, but don't institutionalize it; FYCTH twice a week ain't broke! Do it whenever you want, then those who want to participate can do so. |

VVV.
A 7-page FYCTH thread?!?
Does someone with some spare time want to go through and count the number of votes for and against changing the start time of the Thursday FYCTH?
I vote leave it as is, but don't have a strong view on it. Mainly because it's worked very well for 2.5 years as is, and if it ain't broke don't fix it. And because I see the identity of the thread starter as quite irrelevant. |

(Around that time, people sometimes took to starting it the previous night, which was even more annoying!)
Anyway, I've been wondering about the following for a while. What would people think about changing the Thursday start time to 6 p.m.? As well as meaning that different people could start the rounds, it would make them the same length. I know that people are quite attached to keeping the F.Y.C.T.H. as it is, but personally I think this would overall be a good and fair idea.
I like this idea quite a bit. Indeed, it would even out the voting times completely. There's a huge difference between starting the round the night before and starting it a few minutes early, however. I did notice that on Thursday morning, it was started a little early, deleted and then restarted. On a side note, I did a bit of looking at the last 41 FYCs, and found a few (small) statistics regarding who hosts it. I'll not post the names, just the number of times and percentages related:
FWFRer 1: 19/41 times - 46.3% FWFRer 2: 9/41 times - 21.9% FWFRer 3: 3/41 times - 7.3% FWFRer 4: 3/41 times - 7.3% FWFRer 5: 2/41 times - 4.9% FWFRer 6: 2/41 times - 4.9% FWFRer 7: 2/41 times - 4.9% FWFRer 8: 1/41 times - 2.4%
Maybe it would even things out even more by instituting a tradition that the person who started the last FYC be excluded from starting the next one?

What's the big deal with starting the round? I sometimes go to post in FYCTH and it hasn't been started yet and I wait for someone else to start it. Call me lazy.
We need Apole back.
Thank goodness we have aahaa, muahaha and choco hogging the start. (insert, I really do mean it that it's good that someone starts it regardless of who it is, smiley)

Personally, it doesn't matter to me who starts the thread, but there was an issue about who started the thread on the FYC before this one, so I thought I'd take a look to see who does what.

Veeved. My only issue in the last FYC was that it was not started on time but before time. |

Just a thought, but if the creator of the game prefers it this way then I say leave it alone and if on thursdays no-one else has started a round then I shall.
Whoever starts the round is not important it's meant to be fun lets not go messing with a perfectly good idea.

Hey, I love stats, I wasn't saying anything bad about the list that you made. Only one thing wrong with it, you should have named names. I think I was one of the 4.9%. |
