FWIW, my pending list is certainly shrinking due to the submissions cap. I can only surmise that this must be happening to the community at large too. If so, the cap is doing its job, and nobody needs to mess with it.
Re months of wait for second-pass decisions: we all have those. If the cap truly does tamp down the waiting process [we'll truly find out in a month or two], then cheers! |

Yes, my pending is down from about 415 when the cap started to 305 now, so, if we carry on at this rate, the backlog should be gone in about three months.
So I think the current cap idea is working reasonably well and hopefully by the end of June the cap will be either removed or at least loosened.
Many thanks to Benj & The MERPs - sounds like a pop group.

Mine has barely budged, but I'm sure they'll get to me. |

Of course, but not everyone reviews the same films. People who review more obscure films are likely to wait longer on average. (I don't think this is problematic, though.) |

I think the main effect on the cap on the pending lists has been an indirect one, i.e. the MERPs have felt more empowered to tackle the backlog. This has still made a significant difference, though. I guess that mine has roughly halved since the change. Downtown, are a lot of yours quite specialised films? |

Specialized films? Ummm...I don't know! But all my reviews are special, as we all know.
I'm not too worried about it, I'll get my turn. An added bonus of the submission cap is that it may lead to better overall quality of reviews, keeping me busy voting while I'm waiting for my own submissions...sometimes you can tell when someone's emphasizing quantity over quality. |

Benj doesn't want more MERPs, as he mentioned in the thread title post. I don't think it's a big deal anyway, as my backlog is slowly disappearing, and I've heard that everyone else's is also slowly disappearing. So I'd guess that with a bit of patience the wait-time will get back down to zero again. |

Is this still the case - as in a review submitted for a second pass doesn't count against the weekly cap? If it's the case, then two of mine that I submitted a second time went straight to the decline file on the second pass and something isn't working right. |

Me too. I only was allowed 19 newbies this week, and I suspect the offender is one decline that I explained and resubmitted. |

I amended an existing review and it was declined as I was over my 20 limit.
Maybe Benj should advertise for a new programmer?

If you are not careful I will start a petition for a ten review limit! |

I got my first declines because of exceeding the 20 limit last week. Frankly I was quite chuffed that I'd actually submitted more than 20 reviews in a single week. I've also had a decline this week. 2 weeks in a row I've submitted more than 20. Wow, I'm on fire. |

Benj,
I hit my 20-review limit so I decided to add a new movie but that review went straight to my rejection pile.
I thought new movies don't count on the limit? I've added new movies before (but before I hit the 20-review limit) Does it matter if I add movies before or after I hit the 20-review limit? Is it a glitch? |
