I too tried to add a new movie without Actually shortcut adding the movie first. I added a movie with a review, that should go straight to Benj. But this was declined. Is this also in the Cap now? Havent seen anything relating to this. |

I tried to find where I had read this. If I remember rightly, movies added with no review don't count against the submission limit, but if it was submitted with a review at the same time this would register as part of the sumbission cap. Might this explain it? I may have misunderstood this, though. |

Page one of this thread explained it.
"The only exception will be new films. Since these do not add to the MERPs' burden (only mine) and these tend to be far less quickly submitted, I'm choosing to keep working the full workload for these. Please note however, if I find established reviewers exploiting this by submitting reviews against films already in the database, I will consider closing this loophole." |

Common sense would suggest that once Benj enabled us to add films, he removed this exception to the quota. |

I thought new movies don't count on the limit? I've added new movies before (but before I hit the 20-review limit) Does it matter if I add movies before or after I hit the 20-review limit? Is it a glitch?
The same thing has happened to me. Once we get a 20-review limit decline, I guess the program declines reviews for new film additions as well. btw, I am chuffed up to have hit the decline limit. Yay!
Edit: btw, I was able to add several new films with reviews which were not counted for the 20 review limit (I must have added around 5 new films). Only after total pending reviews crossed 25 (incl. the ones for 5 new films) did the 20-review decline start. However, once it kicked in, it started applying to new film additions as well. So, i guess Salopian hasn't got it right in the above post. |

I'm now down to thirteen pending on their first pass. Is the waiting list similarly reduced for everyone else? |

I'm down to eight now, and they're virtually the eight most recent ones. Are yours not even coming down proportionately? (I've only submitted a few a week since the cap came in.) |

My pending is down to 210, about half what it was when the cap began two and a half months ago.
I now find waiting times pretty satisfactory although there is always room for improvement.
I'd hope that in a month or two the limit could be raised, at least a little.
Again, thanks to Benj and The Merps.

Pending pile has been halved from its maximum and is down to around 60. Approvals are averaging 20-25 per week, which is ahead of my current submission rate.
Thanks for the hard work, guys and gals. |

Yep, thanks very much Benj and MERPs. I would also like to heavily endorse what seems from my pending list to be the policy - of prioritising first pass reviews. I think this is the fairest thing, and best for keeping newcomers on board. |

I say thanks too, to benj and MERPs. I didn't like the sound of the submissions cap when I first heard it, but I've come around, and I'm now a fan. My pending pile is way down, and I'm getting adjudications much earlier. That should be the case for all, newbies and oldbies alike.
I too hope the cap can be eased in future, but here's something that was broke, and benj went and fixed it! |

I, too, have seen some action on my pending list for the first time in many moons. Thanks, MERPs. I'm not exactly sure how the submission cap works, since I normally don't get anywhere near it. My usual quota is somewhere around 2-3 reviews submitted a week (if that). But lately, there've been a couple of movies which have inspired dozens of possible punning reviews, which works out great since I'm trying to claw my way back up the rankings. (I'm currently ranked #50, down from #22 or so in my peak.) But, of course, I don't want to overload the system with pending reviews. Will reviews get automatically declined once I hit 20, or am I supposed to keep track of it myself?
Thanks. |

You'll get an automatic decline along with the reason. If I lose track and get one of these I keep it in my decline pile since it serves as a good marker of where to start for the following week's submission.
I don't know how widespread the following is, but I've noticed that when I go to submit this fwfr again, I need to first delete it from the decline pile and then submit it as normal.
Good luck, Joe!
