I hadn't read your post by that point, clarifying that you meant films really about film-making, not just where one sees film-making going on. (In Blazing Saddles, doesn't it end up where they come across the people making the film, or another film, or something? I've only vaguely seen it, so am not sure. Anyway, I agree that it's not relevant here.)

Big thanks, too, to Whippy for The Conversation, LA Confidential and Sunset Boulevard. I meant to include the latter but guess I didn't press my submit key hard enough. [and how many other situations might THAT phrase be applied to ] I'm not [yet] convinced by
A Matter Of Life And Death, The Dam Busters, or The Big Sleep, because I think those involve cameras as incidentals rather than plot pivots. Am I wrong?

You wrong? Never. They are incidental.

Well, better get busy with this lot! And, after this I'm closing the shutter -- shutter, geddit, geddit! -- before this acc gets over-developed.

Yes, the problem is deciding when to F-stop.

Hey bb, I have received two or three PMs lately suggesting I add in a film of yours to the accolade, so it looks as though you have a fan club

And if sludge can get in with his fleeting background shot in The Corporation, then I think you'll more than qualify

Let me know which film you'd most like to be associated with, and I'll add it in.

Yes, it isn't one of Minnie Drivers best known films, but I liked it, and it is perfect for your accolade. If you can find it to rent, you really should take a look at it.

(I also appreciated the level of accuracy of the portrayal of the Sephardic Jewish traditions in that film.)

Gosh, thanks bife! I'll leave it to you to pick between Futz [in which I play a leading role], Woody Allen's Love and Death [in which I play Anna, Woody's sister-in-law] or (The Ballad of)Eskimo Nell, directed by Martin Campbell, [which features me in a blond wig doing a pretty darn good Jean Hagen impersonation from singin' in the Rain].

Mind you - I think my very best work was as co-star of UK hit TV show Rock Follies of '77 - but we don't cover that - tho it IS now available on DVD , and yes, I do get literally a few pennies royalty from each sale

Weeeeellll ... there's only ONE of 'em that I'm in, though nearly every single reference book gets it wrong! I star in the [cult-horror] version directed by Andy Milligan. I also give birth to a chocolate-covered chicken on the beach -- well it was supposed to be a miscarriage, but you had to take what you could get in those days

Well, thanks, tortelloni shell, but can you please tell me how either of those wonderful films pivots on either photographers or cameras ... what have I missed?

American Beauty: Well, young wossisname filming that plastic bag in the wind is - supposedly - quite important both as a motif and in terms of character illumination, n'est-ce pas?

Holy Grail: The Arthurian knights inadvertently slay a present-day documentary narrator as he's being filmed, which ultimately leads to their arrest by present-day police at the rather disappointing end of the film.

Well, they fit the accolade anyway, but you're listed under both on the I.M.D.B. - perhaps let them know?

... oh, yes, I've tried and tried ... they're a law unto themselves! Feel free to have a go yourself, though!
