| I think I may be misunderstanding the use of the word adultery in this context - as I know it adultery is specifically having sexual relations with someone who is married, its got nothing to do with sex before marriage. |

That is correct. I was saying that I see it as the equivelant of adultery, not that it is literally adultery, althoguh I ws not clear on this.
And george, gay people will not go to hell for being gay. If they are saved then they will go to heaven. Faith alone determines this, not works.

If I may be permitted to add to Mr. Stupid's defense:
What it boils down to is, whatever his personal views are (and I don't agree with all of them), he allows those around him to live according to their own conscience. I hope the rest of you are broad-mined enough to extend him the same courtesy.

These boards have been particularly militant these past weeks and it occurs to me that a bit of mutual understanding wouldn't go amiss, particularly when it comes to trivial things. People are killing each other all over the world right now because they think they are absolutely right and their "enemy" is wrong. How sad is that?
