Ever the latecomer, and "boring-ass" person, I return this thread to the topic at hand:
The idea here is to think up reviews that are only 4 words long. Sometimes those reviews seem to be, or actually are "boring-ass". The fact that they were accepted by the MERPs means that the writer succeeded in their task - which isn't an easy one. The inclusion of humour within those measley four words should be considered an added bonus. Writing a witty review is absolutely NOT obligatory. However, those are the reviews that get lots of votes. If you think a review is "boring-ass" you need not vote for it and are invited to attempt to write one that is fascinating and amusing!
Amen!
It's interesting going through this thread at this late point, after coming back from vacation. Being "boring-ass" is always on my mind as I write my own reviews, and I use that as a way to challenge myself to write ones that include humor, puns, layered meaning, etc. However, even those may seem "boring-ass" to others at any given moment, so obviously that adjectival expression should be a standard to hold one's own reviews up to, never anyone else's.
That said, I, too, stand in deep respect of Tori and the way she has handled this thread!

I feel your pain, Yukon. My highest voted review for Chicken Run "The 'Crate' Escape" has been sitting at 48 votes forever. I, too, thought mine was destined for greater heights. Oh, btw, I just sent you to 50 votes. |

WOW, Thanks Stalean and the other person who got me to 50. I helped your Crate Escape review get to 49. I can't believe I never visited your first page of reviews before. I just gave you a big whack of votes. Great stuff. |

I tried to nudge both Yukon and Stalean to 50 and was thwarted by my previous appreciation for your reviews - good to see Yukon get there and I am sure Sta will see fifty in no time too! |

Wow!!! Kudos to the Cankle, I guess. I would imagine that no member of this esteemed site has gone from anonymous and inconsequential, to becoming the John Rocker/ Leona Helmsley of the FWFR, as I have done, in a mere 4 days. I have only 1 response to that... I think....
Tori, your infinite patience with new users like myself astounds!! Thank-you for not taking too much offense to what I posted. What I typed was simply wrong. I haven't even had the courage to review my own post until just now, many days later, hoping that time would soften my outburst. IT HASN'T!!!
I appreciate all who took the time to tear me a new one in this thread; I deserved it and take it with the applomb I hope can be appreciated by the group. Like I stated before, I love this site and all it stands for, my disdain was simply born out of an early morning(early afternoon, actually, it was a long friday nite) ire I can only describe as uncharacteristic for a guy who seeks approval from everybody around him.
Having said that, I hope to continue submitting in the hopes that my reviews make it to the FWFR board.
As 1 member put it, maybe I'm not so adept at making friends.... walking in on the party, puking in mom's fish-bowl, cleaning it with the family vacuum, stealing the family car, wrecking it on main street and blaming it on the homeless guy on the corner, as if he needed more drama in his life.
I hate to (hopefully)end a spirited thread with little or no drama, but that's where I stand.... penitent before every user who graces this Fourum, and especially all who viewed this particular post.

I think everyone in the fwfr community has it in their hearts to forgive you, CankleFetish. Thanks for your candor and contrition. Almost everyone has had their moments of outbursts in the fourum, I among them. You have ended yours with good grace. Now, may I welcome you to the fourum? |

I have a really hard time making friends in real life, and even more so online. FWFR has been the exception, because everyone here is very friendly and very forgiving. We have all had our moments and they've disappeared quickly. :) I hope we will see more of you in the fourums and I don't doubt we will see many more of your reviews, at this rate! |

I hope that that is just because your children mean that you do not have much free time/energy at the moment. |
