None of these are spoilers.
Some people are more spoiler sensitive than yourself, I'm just covering all bases.
Thanks. |

Then those people should find a different hobby than FWFR, if their appreciation of a film is going to be spoiled by finding out, in advance, the type of shoes a character sports.

If they were shoes I would have said shoes and to go any further would be a real spoiler!! |

They are, but no one here who objects to spoilers has called that sort of thing a spoiler. The only people who have are those trying to claim that it is hard to avoid giving spoilers. |

I agree with Salopian. There is a difference between a spoiler, and just a random detail.
My personal take is that a spoiler warning does not, can not, and should not apply to a film that's been out for a while. Most disagree with me; I see their point, and am willing to concede. I won't go out of my way to spoil "Psycho" for example, but I also won't feel sorry if people got spoiled while reading one of my reviews for it.
That, however, is a totally different issue from regarding each and every frame of film of any given movie as a spoiler.

Better safe than sorry I say.
This is my reasoning. |

In fact, it can be argued that your explanation that they occur in pivotal scenes is a bigger spoiler than the reviews themselves. Marketing The Sixth Sense as "a film with a huge twist" was a much bigger spoiler than giving away the twist. People started looking for it, and many, such as yours truly, saw it in the first scene.
You're so right on all counts. I also thought the Sixth Sense twist was quite obvious. I cannot remember whether I knew there was a twist for that one, but knowing there is a twist does mean that it is often or even usually identifiable. A film last year was marketed with the reviewer quotation "With a huge twist you'll never see coming!" Luckily, I saw that marketing a few weeks before the film, which I watched blind (i.e. not even knowing what genre it was). If I had remembered that that quotation was attached to the film, I would definitely have guessed the twist very readily. As it was, I didn't see it coming at all and it took the film from being so-so to really quite good. Stupid reviewer. Stupid marketing department. |

Damn, I didn't mean to do that.
Well if you two hadn't started questioning them in the first place than I wouldn't have accidentally done that.
I have deleted the offending part from my previous post and ask that you do the same.
Also if you had just left well enough alone the people who hadn't seen the movies would have avoided them and they would have been none the wiser.

If wishes were horses, pigs would fly.
Eppur si muove, by the way. Those three original reviews are still not spoilers.
